Abuse Prevention Policy

IPSolus is committed to responsible use of its services and to respecting the rights of others, and we expect the same from our customers. This policy explains how to report misuse so it can be addressed quickly.

01

Overview

Given the vast range of usage scenarios, IPSolus cannot monitor every customer or end-user interaction with its services. If you identify an instance where IPSolus services are being misused in violation of IPSolus policies or applicable law, or you believe your content is being used in a way that infringes your rights, please submit an abuse notification as described below.

Our dedicated Abuse Prevention department addresses every notification it receives. Each one is evaluated by our Abuse Prevention Tool, which operates 24/7, ensuring consistent, year-round vigilance and swift response times.

02

Requirements for notifications

When submitting a complaint about content hosted or transmitted by an IPSolus company, please follow the guidelines below. Notifications that do not meet them may be delayed or processed incorrectly.

  1. 01

    Plain-text notification

Submit your notification in plain text to make it easy to read and process.

  2. 02

    Written in English

In accordance with jurisdictional language rules, notifications must be submitted in English.

  3. 03

    Your contact information

Provide your name, address, phone number and email address so we can follow up on matters related to the complaint.

  4. 04

    IP address reference

Indicate the IP address where the reported content is located or where the reported behaviour occurred. The IP address must be assigned to IPSolus. This is required as specific evidence of the location of the infringement.

  5. 05

    URL reference

Indicate a static URL where the reported content is located or the reported behaviour occurred. The URL must resolve to an IP address assigned to an IPSolus company.

  6. 06

    Only relevant URLs or domains

Include only the URLs or domains for which you are seeking a resolution, so each separate domain or URL can be evidenced individually.

  7. 07

Description of the content or behaviour

Describe the content or behaviour you are reporting and why it infringes your rights or violates applicable law or our Acceptable Use Policy. The law requires a specific description.

  8. 08

    Trademark infringement

Provide the registration details of the infringed trademark, including the registration number, as proof of your rights to the trademark.

  9. 09

    Copyright infringement

Describe the copyrighted work you claim has been infringed and include a copy of it (or the page where it can be found), together with proof of your copyright ownership.

  10. 10

Hacking, VoIP/SIP scanning, (D)DoS and malware

Describe the illegal activity, including date and time stamps, the IP address of the affected servers, destination and source ports, and log files.

  11. 11

    One IP address per notification

Include only one IP address in each notification. To report several IP addresses, send separate notifications, as each case must be considered individually.

03

Include a keyword

Include one of the following keywords in the body of your notification so it can be classified and processed faster:

[Child abuse][Live streaming][Copyright][Trademark][VoIP/SIP][Phishing][DDoS][Spam][Hack][Malware][Gambling][Zoophilia][Defamation][Personal data][Photos of persons]
04

Additional requirements for DMCA notices

  • a.

An electronic or physical signature of the person authorised to act on behalf of the owner of the copyright that is allegedly infringed.

  • b.

A statement that you have a good-faith belief that the disputed use of the material is not authorised by the copyright owner, its agent or the law.

  • c.

A statement that the information in the notification is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that you are the copyright owner or authorised to act on the copyright owner's behalf.

When filing such a notification you may bear legal responsibility for an incorrect or false claim of infringement, or for non-compliance with legal requirements. If you have any doubts, we recommend consulting a legal advisor before submitting a copyright infringement notice.

05

The abuse process

  1. 1

    You submit a notification

Send your notification by email to the abuse desk, following the requirements above.

  2. 2

    Automated review and routing

The Abuse Prevention department works with an automated Abuse Prevention Tool that evaluates every notification, around the clock.

  3. 3

    The customer is notified

The IPSolus end-customer responsible for the IP address receives an email with the abuse notification and is expected to act on it.

IPSolus does not have access to the content hosted by users of its services. Because the Abuse Prevention Tool forwards your notice to the relevant customer, it may be more efficient, and in some cases required, to send your notification directly to the user of IPSolus services.
